Debo's Story

Senior dog alert!
This handsome gent is Debo, or D to his friends – which, as a friendly dog, is pretty much everyone he meets. He’ll be 9 years old in two months, and is need of a soft place to land.

After a divorce, Debo has been stuck living outside (he currently lives in Spanaway, WA), which, although he loves warm summer days (he loves to sunbathe), he doesn’t like being alone so much and separated from his family. He’s perfectly house trained and has excellent house manners, but really needs someone to take care of him. He was diagnosed with pancreatitis this past year, and isn’t getting the care he should be getting (especially diet care) after this serious diagnosis. He’s not getting much attention by himself outside all day and night either, and would love a place where he can get on a good medical regimen to prevent a reoccurrence of the pancreatitis, and, maybe even more important, be part of a loving family again, inside.

Debo has lived with other dogs, including a Yorkie, and is fine with them – when he meets new dogs I’m told he wants to play. He hasn’t lived with a cat, but I’m told he is nonreactive when he sees cats in the yard – although squirrels are another story! He’s affectionate and craves attention, and a walk with his human is about his favorite thing in the world.

He’s not been around younger children much, and kids under 8 are not his jam (he usually leave the room if there are too many around), but is good with older kids (raised with teenagers as a youngster).

I would love to get Debo into a foster home so we can get him to a vet to get him checked out, on an appropriate diet, and get him neutered and up to date on vaccines. He’s in a situation where he’s being neglected, which is very hard on him when he’s been part of a family and . He’s got personality plus, is still strong and active – loves to play chase and tug of war with you – and has a lot of love to give for his golden years.

Contact me if you can foster this old fella (including foster-to-adopt), https://forms.spdrdogs.org/ContactBreedRep/
or if you're interested in adopting him, please send an adoption application: https://forms.spdrdogs.org/Adoption/

Washington State - no interstate transports. Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and BC adopters will be considered.
