Meet Deal
This litter of 3 was saved from life on the road (literally) by a rescuer heading home from work.
With a guesstimated birthday of March 19, these sweeties will probably be large as adults.
Each pup is affectionate and eager to please. They are learning to count on people for safety and food. Some outdoor things that are typically scary for pups (loud cars, wide open spaces, etc.) seem to be old-hat for these three. Things that most puppies understand (food security, going through doors, etc.) seem to be new to these babies. Based on this, we're guessing that they were kept outdoors and lacked attention from their caregiver.
Deal is crate-trained and will sleep all night. He waits to go out in the morning to eliminate. His anticipated adult crate is 48" so he has room to sprawl if he chooses. Deal is leash-savvy, but will pull to get to exciting things.
When meeting strangers at our public events, Deal wags his tail enthusiastically as if to say, "Pick me! Pick me!" He is used to riding in a car, but hesitant to jump in.
**********
Whether dogs / puppies come in as strays or owner surrenders, we usually have to make our best guess as to birthdate and breed.
If adopted into a home with other animals, particularly cats, your new pet should be crated or secured when you're not available to supervise to insure a harmonious relationship.
A vet reference is required to confirm responsible pet ownership. Requirement is a minimum three year vet history documenting current / previous pets are spayed / neutered, kept up to date on core vaccinations, and on heartworm prevention. We suggest first time pet owners without a vet history look for an adult dog for companionship and to gain experience. Other rescues or your local government-run animal control agency may have different adoption requirements.
Adoption fee covers two vaccinations. Additional fees for 3rd puppy vaccination, refundable spay/neuter deposit, etc. may apply.
We are an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue. We receive no funding from agencies.
Not all foster dogs are available for viewing during public events at Tractor Supply (360 Blowing Rock Blvd) in Lenoir, NC. Available animals can be seen most Saturdays at Tractor Supply in Lenoir from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We recommend interested parties contact us to pre-qualify for adoption so their new furry family can go home once paperwork is complete. Fees are required in cash. For more information on our organization, our website is www.petpartnersrescue.org.
