More About DD

DD is an irrepressibly happy dog who loves to use her puppy dog eyes to get what she wants. What does she want? Mostly that's play like tug, petting, and whatever that yummy thing is that you're eating. DD hasn't met a person she does not like. She shamelessly kisses and hugs strangers if they let her. She's been great with her the other foster dog in her foster home and enjoys playing with him. She prefers a rough play style but has adapted to his less physical play. DD's nickname is Bunny because she hops around the yard so much as she runs and plays. She would be an outside dog if she could be and can entertain herself endlessly in a yard. She likes to chase off birds, entice strangers to meet her, and talk to neighbors. In between, she bolts around the yard, making zoomie circles, and showing off her speed and long legs. She throws the tennis ball around for herself, preferring to play 'keep away' to you throwing it for her. She is a tall dog, with a beautiful curled, fluffy tail. Her coat is thick for a bulldog. Her build is lean and trim. She is high energy and smart. She's food driven and loves to use her superior sniffer. She is a bit wild on the leash, but we're working on her with that. She "sits" for her meals and has been learning "wait". She has great recall, and will come to you every time you call her. In the house, she could also use some 'finishing.' Her potty training is impeccable. If she gets bored, she starts to get nosy around the house and might pick up non-toys from the floor or check out the kitchen counter. Now that she has a doggie to play with, this has just about disappeared. She can be an independent sort but typically loves to be near her people. She will stand for hours for a good petting session. When she's excited, she jumps and forgets her size, making her not a good candidate for the wee folk. DD needs a home that is active and will keep her mind engaged. DD Bunny is a very sweet girl. Anyone who adopts her will be lucky to have her in their life. We are looking for an active family for her. Preferably one with a fenced yard as she does have a lot of energy to burn. If you're looking for an affectionate, fun, smart, active dog, DD may be your girl!

To be considered for adoption, you must apply using our free, online application. Our dogs are fostered in our volunteers' homes, not in a central shelter/location. Only approved applicants are put into contact with the foster family to setup a meeting with the foster dog.
