Dax's Story

Hi friends, I’m Dax!
I’m a happy-go-lucky, tail-wagging, ready-for-anything kind of pup! I’m 10-12 months old now and my foster mom says I’ll likely be 50–55 pounds when I'm done growing. I’m confident, smart, and always up for fun—whether it’s zooming around the yard, going for walks, or making new doggie friends. Everyone I meet falls in love with me (can you blame them?). I’ve got that perfect mix of playful energy and sweet snuggles. My foster family had a kiddo and another dog and I love them both. I’m healthy, up to date on all my vet stuff, and ready to find my forever family. I've also been tested with cats and I don't pay any attention to them.If you’ve been dreaming of a best buddy who will make you laugh, keep you moving, and love you forever, I think we’d be a pawfect match. I'd love a fully fenced in yard and a doggie sibling would be awesome! Reach out to Long Road Home Rescue at lrhrescue@gmail.com to learn more about me, or apply using the link below!
I'm living in a great Foster family on Long Island so come visit me...I can’t wait to meet you!
https://www.lrhrescue.com/adoption-application/#

Long Road Home's Adoption Policy
Where do we get our dogs? Majority of our dogs come from high kill shelters. Some are owner surrender or strays. All of the dogs that come into our rescue have been in high emergency situations where they would not be wagging their tails. We work with a lot of shelters in the south as well as on long island. We have wonderful people who dedicate their time to the dogs and transport them into our long island foster homes. What happens to the dog after we accept it into the program? All of the dogs first go to see a vet. Once they receive a clean bill of health the go into a home. We normally give each dog at least a week in a home with qualified trainer before we place the dog into a foster. We really like to have the dogs house broken and to have at least started basic obedience training. After the trainer we place the dog into its new foster home until it finds its forever home.
