Meet Daucus

This patch of wildflowers would like to take over your garden - and your heart!

With a guesstimated birthday of April 23, 2022, Daucus is the last pup in his litter and weighed about 50 lb in Nov. 2022.

Mama's picture is included in this post. She is a neighborhood dog and won't allow the rescuer to catch her. Each baby is sweet and snuggly, certainly not wild :)

Daucus loves to play in the field and creek at his foster mom's home. He runs and wrestles with his foster brother, Thuss. Daucus is leash savvy, but will pull when excited. He is comfy in a 48" crate, and should have this size as an adult. He sleeps peacefully at night and waits for his morning walk to eliminate outside. His crate is in the foster's garage, and he doesn't come into the house on a regular basis. We can't swear that he's house-trained, but he certainly would like to be inside to show you his good manners :)

Daucus is calm on car rides and likes to go with his foster mom on explores. He's a little timid in new situations, but gains confidence when with a doggy friend. At public events, Daucus wags his tail invitingly to everyone, including children.

He loves watching football with his foster mom!

**********

Whether dogs / puppies come in as strays or owner surrenders, we usually have to make our best guess as to birthdate and breed.

If adopted into a home with other animals, particularly cats, your new pet should be crated or secured when you're not available to supervise to insure a harmonious relationship.

A vet reference is required to confirm responsible pet ownership. Requirement is a minimum three year vet history documenting current / previous pets are spayed / neutered, kept up to date on core vaccinations, and on heartworm prevention. We suggest first time pet owners without a vet history look for an adult dog for companionship and to gain experience. Other rescues or your local government-run animal control agency may have different adoption requirements.

Adoption fee covers two vaccinations. Additional fees for 3rd puppy vaccination, refundable spay/neuter deposit, etc. may apply.

We are an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue. We receive no funding from agencies.

Not all foster dogs are available for viewing during public events at Tractor Supply (360 Blowing Rock Blvd) in Lenoir, NC. Available animals can be seen most Saturdays at Tractor Supply in Lenoir from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We recommend interested parties contact us to pre-qualify for adoption so their new furry family can go home once paperwork is complete. Fees are required in cash. For more information on our organization, our website is www.petpartnersrescue.org.
