Meet Darla
Every dog lives in a foster home, in a family environment, where we start crate training, and they receive all of their medical, and we get them ready to live with their family.
Every dog is spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchip, dewormed, and they receive parasite prevention. Dogs over six months old are heartworm tested, and any dog that goes through heartworm treatment will be disclosed with records.
Meet Darla! She’s approximately 8 months old and currently weighs 38 pounds, but she’s tall and still a bit underweight. She was found stray and no one came for her. We also have sister Mandy. Both are incredible dogs!
We aren't sure of Darla's breed mix. We are guessing. She does not have double dewclaws of the Great Pyrenees', but she is big boned and there are a lot of GP mixes in the south. She behaves more like a guarding dog and playful, but not high energy. She also knows how to wind down for naps and being close to her person.
Darla does well in a crate and she’s good about playing with her own toys. She has not bothered items in her foster home. She will need some training because she is young and had a late start.
She has not lived with cats or kids in rescue. We can cat test her. She is a sweetheart, but we prefer older kids for Darla.
For anyone interested in a pair of beauties, we would adopt Darla with sister Mandy. They were together the first 8 months of life. They are happy together, but they can be adopted separately.
The total adoption fee with transportation (we pay for every dog we send because we do not own the van service) and a health certificate before transport from a licensed veterinarian is $585.
Serious Adapters should fill out the application online and we will be in touch with you.
