Hi! I’m Darcy and I was rescued from a municipal shelter so my origin story is a mystery. My foster has settled on me being around 2 years old.

I am potty trained using a dog door and crate trained, although long hours in the crate are not my jam.

I love children! Even toddlers… I am very affectionate and identify myself as a lap dog. I truly enjoy car rides, walks and hikes. I’m very athletic and love being outdoors so I’m working on not pulling the leash so much. Practice makes perfect so I try. I’m just so excited to exercise! Oh! I also adore chew toys!

So, fun fact: thunder and loud rain have no effect on me but I am afraid of loud noises like shaking out a trash bag (insert shrug emoji). I bark at strangers like the Amazon guy coming to the door and I can be snarky to visitors I do not know. I’m not crazy about other dogs at first meet but I can be corrected and tend to warm up once a slow intro has been done. Space and time are my preferences for meeting new pups but I think a good friendship is worth the wait. And I hate to admit, I do not care for men so my greatest wish is for a single woman with kids…that’s my dream!

Those are my warts…for those reasons I’m better suited for a home with a yard and no shared walls. Did I say I’d love a yard?

It may take a while for me to build courage and confidence but I have a big heart and want to make you happy. Plus, I want to be happy too!
