Meet Darby.

Darby is a handsome, super sweet mixed breed with a great personality. He is 5 years old but you would never know as he doesn’t look a day over 3…at least that’s what he will tell you! Darby is a perfect size weighing in at around 50 pounds, ideal for trekking thru snow, enjoying sunshine, and sharing forts in the backyard for scheming summer shenanigans.

Darby loves to go for walks! When he sees the leash and harness come out he is ready to hit the pavement. Tennis balls are his absolute FAVORITE, if you are up to it he will fetch that ball for you as long as you let him. He knows his basic commands of sit, down, and a little bit of stay.

Darby is getting slow intros with other dogs via walks. When dogs bark at him, he looks their way, nods his head, and says “what’s up bro” and keeps on trucking. We will continue to gather information on how Darby interacts with other dogs but so far so good. Darby would be great with kids who aren't young enough to be knocked over by his verve for life.

Darby knows his handsome mug means you want to bring him home but need more info on his cat compatibility. A feline free home, or one where the cats are dog-savvy, have their own (high) spaces to go to, and a family committed to slow introductions with resident cats could be okay. Darby is house trained and crate trained, though he would rather chill outside his crate on his dog bed, or hang with you. He is not destructive when you leave him out of the crate, simply load him up with an assortment of toys to keep him busy. Oh yeah, just a little tidbit…Darby loves to eat fruit and vegetables, what a healthy little guy!
