Hi I’m Darby! I’m a one year old, 41lb, black lab mix. I’m an energetic pup with lots of love to give. I want to love everyone, humans, dogs and cats. My foster sister cat doesn’t want to play with me though. She tries to avoid me whenever I want to play. Sometimes I think it’s because I still haven’t realized how big I am. I have two favorite things. My first favorite is toys. I will chew apart any toy you put in front of me. My foster mom is glad that I only chew toys and not anything in the house. My second favorite thing is hills!!! Yes, hills! I have to stop and look at every hill I walk past. I always want to run up and down them. Speaking of walks, I walk really well on a leash. I stay pretty close unless I stop to sniff something. I also take my time to go to the bathroom. But make sure I go before we go back inside! I’m notorious for not going to the bathroom on a walk and wanting to go out again after. I’m pretty good at pawing at the door to let you know I have to go, but sometimes I’m not so good at telling you in time. A regular potty schedule helps me not have any accidents! I’m excited to find a furever family who will run, play, cuddle and love me.

Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home.

Current Adoption Fees Are:
$400+tax for puppies to 3 years old
$350+tax for ages 4-7
$250+tax for ages 8 and up
Bonded pairs vary

The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs.
