Meet Daphne (ADOPTED!)

**DAPHNE HAS BEEN ADOPTED!**Pal's Place would love to introduce you to Daphne, a 1-2-year-old female German Shepherd. This stunning girl was rescued from an overburdened animal control facility in Kentucky. We don't know much about her past, but we know she now has a bright future! Daphne has some scarring and hair loss on her back feet, legs, and tail, along with an old injury to the tip of her tail. It looks like she may have had her back end stuck somewhere or in something, and it appears there was quite the struggle to get free. The wounds have healed over, and the fur is growing back in nicely in some spots, but we are not sure if it will ever come back in full.

Daphne is now in a loving foster home in Chicago while she waits to meet her forever family. She is a typical young German Shepherd. She is extremely energetic, intelligent, and busy! Daphne is profoundly sweet and eager to please, but it appears she had little to no training before coming to Pal's Place. She is very vocal, very puppy-ish in her behavior, and needs to work on her manners a bit. Due to her energy level, lack of training, and mouthiness when she plays, we feel she would do best in a home with children aged 10 years + or an adult-only home. She is no couch potato and will not be happy with a few long walks around the neighborhood every day or playing ball a few times a week. She will need a job to do and at least an hour of vigorous exercise a day, along with plenty of mental stimulation to channel her energy into something productive. Daphne is being fostered with several other dogs and gets along well with her foster housemates but can overwhelm them with her energy and her attempts to herd them. She would do best with dogs close to her size or larger and ones with a similar energy level. She is crate trained and does well with her housebreaking when kept on a regular schedule. If you think you can provide Daphne with all she needs to thrive, please reach out to us today! With the right guardians and in the right environment, she will be a once-in-lifetime dog! Her adoption fee to the rescue is $375. This fee helps cover her vaccines, spay, microchip, and other medical care necessary to prepare her for adoption. Please email palsplace1@hotmail.com for more information or visit palsplacerescue.org to complete an application online for adoption.
