Meet Dante
Dante is a 2 year old seal, male iggy. Dante comes from a life of living on the farm (and lived outside primarily), since being in his foster home he is becoming acclimated to being a true iggy. Due to his curiosity and drive to hunt, Dante will need to go to a home with a 6 foot privacy fence with lockable gates.
Dante is as sweet as they come, he loves to snuggle and be as close to you as he can get. If there is a blanket, he’s happy as can be. He is slowly learning what toys are and how to play with them.
Since he came from the farm life, he does love to run and chase anything that might be running around in his yard. It’s safe to say he’ll keep your yard squirrel/chipmunk free.
Dante is food motivated and has quickly learned a routine and that he has to go to his crate for breakfast and dinner. He is also a fan of counter surfing so we’d suggest ensuring all things are pushed to the back.
Dante is potty trained, crate trained and learning to walk on a lead. With some consistent reinforcement and love he’ll make a great pet!
Dante is special needs in the fact that he recently tested positive for heart worms. What this means is he currently requires daily medication and will require a couple injections in the near future to treat them. He takes his medicine just fine with no issues. Due to Dante's special needs and requirement for injections over the next few months, a home near the Charlotte area is preferred so that he can complete his treatments to allow for a full recovery.
Dante has been fully vetted and is ready for his forever home. He does well with other dogs, he’s not a fan of cats and will only be considered for homes with children who have older children. He will not do well in a home with smaller children. He is currently being fostered in Charlotte, NC.
