Dansby....sounds like a proper English gentleman with impeccable manners, doesn't it? Well, that describes me to a T! I truly am a gentleman with wonderful house manners. I am housetrained, sit on command, and willing to go into the crate on my own (although I am not destructive and do not require a crate....I just like to lie in it for my naps). I hang out in the house calmly while my people work from home. I do not jump up on furniture unless invited. I do love to snuggle with my humans, so I will happily jump up on the couch or recliner and enjoy some love when given the green light to do so. I especially love belly and ear rubs....just sayin!

I also get along well with my 5 other foster sisters who range from small to medium to large. While they are old and ornery, I don't take it seriously if they snap at me....I go merrily on my way to grab a toy....as I love my toys! I do love to play, so having a playmate in my forever home would be wonderful, but not imperative, as I am content hanging out with my family while they work or watch tv.

Just because I am laid back and calm in the house doesn't mean I am not up for an adventure! I have hopped my foster mom's fence to go play with other dogs and chase a deer or two...boy, that was fun!!! So, a 6 foot fence would probably be a good idea for me, to keep me from getting lost in the woods, which may have been why I ended up in a shelter as a stray. I do walk well on leash, so if someone would like to take me on walks and hikes for my adventures, that would be a great way for me to get my "exploring" fix!

PRIVATE MEET & GREETS: Submitting an adoption application is required before a private meet & greet will be scheduled. We will complete a pre-screening first to make sure that the dog you are interested in is a good fit for you. That way, we don't unnecessarily waste your time or the foster's time.

Our adoption fee is $300 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. All of our rescue dogs are heart worm tested annually beginning at 9 months of age, and they are kept on monthly heart worm and flea preventatives.

The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue.

We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
