Meet Danny - $400

I’m Danny! I’m about a 5 month old neutered male. I am the biggest puppy in my litter at 37 lbs. My rescuers think I am a Catahoula mix based on my marking and color.

I was shy when I first got to my foster home but after a little bit of laying on the couch with my foster sister, my foster mom brought out toys. I love toys. They are so fun! I liked the squeaky plush ones best but then the chew key ring and dino chew won my love. I like to rest by laying my body against my foster’s arm and my head resting comfortably on the back of her neck. She says it’s not very comfortable but I think it’s great. I like to cuddle with my foster family and my sister when I’m relaxing. I was an escapee at the rescue. When my sister went out of the crate for a bath and came back in, I ran for the hills. It was fun for the short time it lasted but then I had to go back. I have a fenced yard right now and love to run. I’m fast and I go back and forth in sprints. We play about 2-3 hours a day for exercise before work, on lunch, and when the kids come home from school. We have taken a few short walks to practice the leash. I don’t pull unless I get nervous then I try to back up and retreat. City sounds are different from the country so it may take me a bit to adjust to that noise. As I grow up and nap less, I will probably need more exercise but right now, this makes me happy. I boss around my little sister Donna but I am very responsive to my big foster sister and brother. I grumble a little at her when she wants to eat with me but I let her in and we share fine. We sleep in our crate nice and quiet when we are home alone. I bark when I see or hear someone coming by the yard and up to the door. Otherwise I’m a quiet guy. I am learning to go potty outside. I’m doing the deuce outside every single time! I’m still working on numero uno. I adore my people. I give a few kisses here and there and I love to jump up and give hugs. My foster mom keeps telling me off and says we have to have four on the floor. I listen, but I do sneak a few extra hugs in first before I stay off. I am practicing taking treats gently. I get so excited over treats, I rush to get them and sometimes touch my teeth to fingers. I don’t bite but we are working on taking treats slower and softer so I don’t scare anyone, especially kids.

If you are looking for a pal who will learn to take long walks, jogs, or adventures, let’s meet and see if we are meant to be family!

If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- www.luckymuttsrescue.org and submit an application. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home.
