Dandelion
Dandelion is our 9 month old 55# spayed female Great Pyrenees mix.
She didn’t have a name and never knew the inside of a house until she came to rescue a few weeks ago.
Now she walks on a leash, sleeps in her crate overnight (by choice) and always keeps her crate clean. She uses the doggy door to go in and out. She loves gentle voices and attention. Dandelion is still learning, she’s young and sometimes a bit timid. But she has already come so far and we would love for her to bond to her permanent family.
Please read about the Great Pyrenees breed before applying. We will give first priority to those with Pyrenees experience. They have a heavy double coat, so require regular grooming. They are a gentle, affectionate breed with their family and those they know. They are very leery of strangers. This is a livestock guardian breed. They will guard whatever they consider their “herd”. They are nearly always BARKERS. That’s how they alert the intruder that they are on duty. So, if you have neighbors that would be upset over a dog who will probably weigh 75# or more at maturity and bark at them, a Great Pyrenees is not the dog for your family. If you have ample space and know the breed characteristics she may be exactly what you have looked for.
They are diggers if kept in a small area. They will dig a hole to keep cool or warm. While sometimes thought to be stubborn. What they really are is smart. They think and problem solve very well on their own.
If Dandelion is listed she is available, there is no need to ask. She is an amazing beautiful girl who wants an amazing family to love her.
Dandelion does get along well with other animals and childre
