Meet DAN $400
Ain't no river wide enough, to keep me from gettin' to you babe!
Dan the man here, just popping in to say hi! I'm an 11-month-old hound mix weighing 65 pounds. I have neck rolls for days and tend to run like Phoebe from Friends. Being outside is my happy place! I love to swim and dig in the sand, I'll even jump in the lake to meet new friends! Summer not your thing? That's okay... I like to run and jump in the snow like a little kid too! I love running laps with my brothers in the yard and chewing on bones too!
I get along very well with kids, and I love playing with all the other dogs. I'm very food motivated, and I'm working on my training. I go in my kennel with no problem, buuuuuuut I do protest when I first go in. You may hear my cry for help or even a howl, but I do settle down after a while. Because of this I would do best living in a home vs an apartment. If my people are home I will lay in my kennel nicely for a quick nap and know that nobody will bother me. My absolute favorite is lying on the couch and cuddling up with my foster family.
I have a really good nose on me, and I have already found a deer shed while I was visiting up north. My foster family was so proud of me! I'm still finding my love for car rides and do best with someone to cuddle in the backseat. I take trips often up north with my family, but tend to get a bit sick if someone isn't with me to comfort me. I'm so incredibly thankful to be rescued, and show it daily. I truly enjoy being with other dogs, they are all my friends and I just love to play. I'm one big dopey puppy, searching near and far for the right family to love me. Until then, you can find me outside, frolicking in the daisies!
If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- www.luckymuttsrescue.org and submit an application. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members of the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home. Meet and greets take place at our adoption center located in Milwaukee. If you are proceeding with adopting a Lucky Mutt, we will require the dog to have a Martingale collar at the time of adoption, to ensure the dog's safety during the transition to a new home.
Current Adoption Fees Are:
$400+tax for puppies to 3 years old
$350+tax for ages 4-7
$250+tax for ages 8 and up
Bonded pairs vary
The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up-to-date age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months), and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information, and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook, and our website for upcoming dogs. Should you see a dog that interests you, please send us a Facebook message or an email with your approval number. Please be patient with us, as Lucky Mutts Rescue is run strictly by volunteers and many of us work full-time jobs, have families, and also foster dogs. Thank you for considering Lucky Mutts Rescue for your next furry family member!
