Dog meet and greets are by appointment only, please answer the questions below the bio, either through Petfinder, Adopt-A-Pet or by directly e-mailing us at shelter@hbpets.org. Please be patient, we are over capacity and short staffed, we try to get back to everyone quickly, it may be 4-5 days.

Meet our senior Dakota, he is a neutered male, 8yrs, Labrador/Blue Heeler mix. Dakota has been with us since March 2022, he came in as a bite quarantine for nipping his owner. Dakota lived in a high stress home, with lots of humans and other dogs, as he has gotten older, his tolerance for children and the other dogs has become an issue.
What we have learned and know about Dakota, he is a little arthritic and with proper exercise, he is dong very well. He would love a home with no young children, he likes female dogs of the same size or larger. He loves car rides, he loves to follow you around. He would make a great gardening buddy or outdoors buddy.
We are all just in love with this guy, he has never attempted to bite us, even during his blood draw or when we trimmed his nails or when we keep having to put a topical medication on his tail because he has happy tail!!!! He just needs a chance with someone who understands he is the best boy and will actually love him and make him comfortable.

My adoption fee is $100.
