Daisy Mae $99 ADOPTION FEE's Story

Soon to be 14 year old (DOB Dec 2, 2011) Daisy Mae, joined Mattie's Place after her owner moved into retirement care.

She was purchased as a puppy from a breeder and we were able to get her information on her from the Canadian Kennel Club, including her birthdate.

Daisy Mae had some super stinky breath and years of tartar accumulation on her teeth. She received a dental and we had to remove a couple teeth that were rotting. She does have a higher grade heart murmur, as most dogs her age do, but did well in surgery and isn't a candidate for heart medication. She was vaccinated as we couldn't find any medical history on her and she is on monthly parasite prevention.

She's otherwise in great health. We did senior bloodwork on her and there are no concerns.

Daisy Mae would do well with a quiet home but a home where she can get out for her walks, because she loves, loves, loves her walks so much!

Daisy Mae can be a picky eater and refused most kibble, so with thanks to Tom & Sawyer Fresh Prepared Pet Meals for sponsoring Daisy Mae’s food, she is back to enjoying meal time. Tom & Sawyer has extended a very generous discount to her adopter when she goes home on a lifetime of food purchases for her.

Daisy Mae os also on a bit of a weight loss journey, as she currently weighs in at 15.5 pounds and could shed a couple of those pounds.

She’s LOVING their Italian Beef Pasta recipe which is great for senior dogs and heart function:

? Contains powerful antioxidants that are great for skin and coat health, kidney, liver and cognitive function, disease prevention, and cancer-fighting properties.
? Hemp seed & anchovy oils help reduce inflammation, improve joint mobility and clear skin conditions.
? Beta Carotene is a precursor for vitamin A, an essential nutrient important for eye function and heart health.

Daisy Mae is cat, kid and dog friendly. Though I won't put her in a home with kids under 14 as she's not into that kind of typical young teen vibe.

Daisy Mae is just a great dog and has some terrific years left in her. She deserves a for-always home to live out her retirement dream.

FROM THE FOSTER:

Daisy Mae is the sweetest dog. It takes very little to make her happy, she wants a couple walks a day, some yummy food, and a soft place to nap, preferably on the couch next to you while getting pets.

Daisy spends a lot of the day cuddled up in her bed napping but once she’s up, she’s ready to go, running around the house, jumping up and down, which is code for pet me.

She loves her walks, unless it’s raining, and does the cutest run with her ears flapping.

Daisy loves our cat, her tail starts wagging the second the cat comes over to say hello.

She has no accidents in the house, doesn’t bark, sleeps through the night, and loves everyone she meets. She really is just such a lovely addition to any family.

------------------------------------

ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES: spay/neuter, deworming, flea/tick prevention, vaccinations, dentals if needed or any added surgical needed surgical care, food, nose to tail health exam, toys, leash|collar, winter coat (seasonal), poop bags, dishes and 30 days of Trupanion pet insurance with immediate coverage on adoption day for any illness or injury not pre-existing.

----------------------------------------

To note: the above description is relevant to this dog in it's current & previous setting. Home changes & adopter personalities can bring out different behaviours not previously seen.
