Meet Daisy Mae - ADOPTED!!

Meet Daisy Mae, affectionately known as Dae-Dae. This sweet girl came to the rescue when her elderly owner had surgery and could not care for her properly. One of our foster moms, Linda, was aware of the situation and stepped up to take Daisy May in. Linda is fostering Daisy Mae and describes her as a fantastic little dog who listens well. She gets along well with her three senior dogs and is respectful of her cat, Missy. While Daisy May is not super snuggly with her dogs, she shares well and does not have any guarding issues. Her prior owner used to take her to the dog park regularly, so she's been well socialized with other dogs. We think she would be great as part of a pack or as an only dog too.

Daisy Mae has been a great house guest and has shown impeccable house manners. She hasn't had a single accident in her foster home and will let you know when she needs to go out. Linda does not feel the need to crate her, as she has never been destructive and does well with her pack. Linda describes Daisy Mae as more independent than cuddly but says she likes to be petted and will "talk" to her when she wants some attention. She keeps track of where Linda is and will always choose to lie right next to her on the couch. Daisy Mae understandably needed some time to grieve the loss of her family but is now feeling quite comfortable in her foster home.

Daisy May has a moderate energy level, likes to play, and has rediscovered toys at Linda's house. She also enjoys being outside exploring the backyard and will bark to let you know when she's ready to come inside. She is relaxed inside the home and comfortable meeting new people. Daisy May has also been friendly to Linda's guests and her adult children, who visit regularly.

This sweet pup needs a little time to trust and navigate change, but she is a well-mannered, social, lovable dog who will make a great companion.

Foster update - 7/31/21: Daisy Mae is currently being fostered with another dog and cat. She been a great houseguest, has impeccable house manners and has had no accidents in the hosue. She has a more laid back energy level, enjoys leisurely walks and snuggle time. She greets new people and other dogs well, and will go with the flow.

One thing she's not a fan of is being left alone...She will bark and can be pretty vocal when you leave her. She's never destructive and we do believe her barking will wane once she has time to settle in, but she is not a good fit for a condo.

Her perfect home would be a retired person or couple who have a flexible schedule and live in a SFH where the barking is not an issue. Daisy Mae is a very sweet girl who just wants to share love and spend time with her person.
