Meet Daisy

Meet Daisy, your active and devoted Australian Cattle Dog mix and Adventurer!

Daisy is a lively and loving one-year-old ACD mix with a beautiful blue eye and a wiggling booty bobtail. Embodying the breed's well-known energy and intelligence, coupled with a deep love for her human family, Daisy makes an affectionate and deeply feeling companion. She balances her high energy with a love for cuddle time often using your arm as a pacifier as she thinks everything is best explored with her mouth--a trait we are still working on.

Daisy’s favorite pastimes include tummy rubs, romping in the woods, adventures of all kinds, playing with her toys, and exploring the world like her first snow! Daisy just loves the world and her people evidenced by her burying her head in your chest and providing “hugs.” She will always make you laugh, well almost always, and her smile is contagious. Daisy is just a goofy, loving pup with a ton of energy and synapses firing in every direction.

Of course, with this kind of zest for life, comes a lot of work with impulse control. In dog academy and in her structured adolescent playgroup, Daisy demonstrates an eagerness and aptness for learning while developing self-control and patience, key for her active mind and body. Daisy is dog-reactive and gets easily overwhelmed by other dogs. While it appears that she is not suited to live in a home with other dogs, she has played with other pups and trainers believe she could potentially live with another dog given the right temperament and environment. Currently, she lives at peace with the resident pup, but this was not without a slow introduction, close monitoring, and continued training. Daisy spent her informative years as a stray, so she does protect her food, and resource guards from other dogs. She will probably never be an off-leash-at-the-dog-park kind of girl, as she needs a controlled environment to feel secure and happy.

Daisy is looking for an active individual or family who can match her energy and enthusiasm for life while also able to set firm boundaries and be consistent in her work. She's not the right choice if you're looking for a big lazy couch potato; she thrives on activity and engagement. Knowledge about her breed and a commitment to her training and well-being are key. Small children and strong dog personalities will probably not enjoy her mouthing or communication style.

Daisy is eager to find a forever home where she can be the sole canine companion, sharing adventures and love. She's ready to bring joy, energy, and loyalty to her new family!
