Meet Daisy

I am 5 1/2 years old
approx. 15lb

My name is Daisy and that name really kind of defines my life so far. For eight months I languished in a pound and no one wanted me. As each month ticked by, I regressed more and the stains on my body showed I often had to sleep in my own filth. On the day my life was to end a transport went through and when they learnt my fate, they took me even though there was no waiting rescue. I ended up in a poor shelter in On. that didn’t have the resources to care for me and when JRTRO heard of my plight they said they would take me in.

You know what I was so scared, and I wasn’t in the best shape and despite that they still wanted me. Slowly as with a flower I began to bloom and push through the dirt of my past and learn to trust again. At first I was frantic for food and would grab any that I could get close to but I have learnt that there is always going to be enough, okay I will admit I am still frantic for food, but I am trying very hard to learn manners and respect other dog’s bowls and I will listen if they tell me they don’t’ want to share.

I am in great shape now and foster mama says I have the softest fur she has ever felt, and as time goes by it will cleaner as it grows out. I am going for my dental on Feb. 4th so I will have bright shiny teeth to smile at you.

I can be timid with new people but if you allow me to move at my own pace, I will warm up to you very quickly. I do woof at foster papa sometimes but only when he is standing but I am getting better all the time and will take treats from him and if he is laying down, I will go and lay on him. I am still getting used to the idea that man papa’s are also good.

I have worked really hard on my housetraining and although I may have an accident, but I will do my best not to. I will be loyal, loving and have a very kind heart and love to cuddle and be in your arms. I no longer hide when I get scared and I know things have changed for the good but sometimes I will still get scared but if you talk to me quietly, I will come to you to be cuddled. I have no aggression in fact I go quite limp when scared.

I will do well as an only dog, and I am okay to be left alone if you have to go out, and I am also crate trained. I need love security and the chance to continue to bloom.
