Daisy's Story

Daisy is a very chunky and happy 6 to 7-year-old dachshund. She weighs 18 lbs., but should weigh closer to 14 lbs. She needs to be the only dog in the home as she doesn't really like other dogs (but will tolerate some when on neutral territory).

She is eternally happy and like a ray of sunshine! This girl does like her human(s) to be around most of the time, and would love to be adopted by someone who WFH or can take her to work. She would make the ultimate greeter at an office!

She was a little itchy on the chicken diet we had her on, and we are in the process of switching her to fish. She has had an allergy shot to help with the itching and is feeling better.

Daisy will have a dental in December before she is ready to be adopted.

To be considered for Daisy, please apply on our website:

https://www.portlanddachshundrescue.org/adoptionform

Portland Dachshund Rescue, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
OUR CRITERIA There's nothing better than a successful match. We like to explain the process of finding the right rescue dog as being similar to online dating: You will want to check our site often to see who is new, read each bio and reach out if you think they might have found someone special. Our adoption team is highly skilled at helping you find a dog with the right personality that will fit your family and lifestyle. Occasionally, we receive multiple promising applications for a dog and ultimately match the dog with the home where we think they will do best. We are committed to helping you find a dog even if you don't "match" on your first attempt. We would love nothing more than to help you find the forever dog of your dreams. Although we like to tailor each match, we do have some basic criteria we look with respect to adoptive homes: *Homes should be non-smoking *Have a securely fenced yard *Ability to commit to yearly dentals and shots for the pet *Willingness to purchase ramps and pet stairs to safeguard the dog's back
