Meet Cutie

Cutie was found as a stray when she was a pup. She was underweight and under loved. She never knew where her next meal was coming from so she learned at a very young age she had to eat as much as she could because she didn't know if she would get food the next day. 2 years ago she was brought to the shelter where she was adopted however her uncertainty about food still remained and she was surrendered back to the shelter. The adopter was uncertain their young children could read Cutie's signs when eating. On the bright side, this defensive behavior can be managed or even prevented. This behavior is also geared at other dogs vs any human intervention with her food Want to read up on the 7 steps? Go here: https://rawbistro.com/blogs/raw-bistro/food-aggression-in-dogs Cutie is an amazing loving dog that deserves an amazing life of unconditional love and happiness. Are you ready to adopt? Are you ready to be a hero? Heroes do not always wear capes.

Cutie is a Labrador retriever mix with an estimated DOB of 2/28/2018. Her weight was 71.3 lbs at intake and she came to us as an owner surrender. This girl is in need of some extra outside activity and someone who is willing to help her bring back her vim and vigor with love and compassion. Cutie needs a special friend to help her make some good life choices when it comes to food, friends, and activity. She is house trained. Cutie has been known to be a bit possessive when it comes to food so working with her on that is a must. Cutie's adoption fee is $190 which includes a medical exam, sterilization surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormer, heartworm testing, and a microchip.

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. As we get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

All PPAS puppies and dogs are up to date on all of their vaccines (including rabies if age appropriate), and will be microchipped and registered in the adopter's name at the time of adoption. Adopters get a free consultation at an area vet partner within 14 days of adoption. Any dog that is six months of age or older will be tested for Heartworms and if found negative, will be kept on Heartworm prevention during their shelter stay, after the adoption it is up to the adopter to continue the highly recommended Heartworm preventative treatment. Also, all PPAS shelter dogs are treated with a monthly topical flea/tick preventative and we ask that adopters continue that treatment as well. Per state law, we sterilize all shelter pets before they begin their new fabulous lives with their new families.
