Meet Curtis (likes walking in the water)

Curtis is a 65 lb., 2-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix. He is great with other dogs! But it does take him a minute to warm up to people. He takes his cues from other dogs, which is why we think he would do best in a home with another dog. Once he knows you, he will come and lick your hand, seek out affection and is happy to lie next to you on the couch or on your pillow in bed!

Curtis does well on a leash, with very minimal pulling. He’s totally housebroken and does just fine when left alone, although he does seem to like cords and remote controls, so make sure to keep them out of sight! He also really enjoys chewing on squeaky toys and bones. Because of his long legs he would probably make a great running partner.

Curtis has been fostered in a home with 4 cats and will get playful with them at times but has never been rough with them.

We believe Curtis would do well with older children in the home, that know how to respect dog’s boundaries. He has done very well with my 10- & 12-year-old nieces and he has met some younger ones that he has done very well with also. I would say it does appear that Curtis was abused as he will run and hide and cower if you raise your voice.

Curtis was on the euthanasia list in TX when a rescue stepped up for him because he reminded her of her dog that looked just like him but was his mini me. Curtis was scared and timid in TX, but he has blossomed into an amazing dog, and he is so handsome to boot!

Curtis is up to date on all vaccinations and heartworm prevention, and he is heartworm negative. He is also neutered.

Curtis will make a great addition to a family that is welling to let a dog open and become who he should be as a dog.

His adoption fee is $380. Please fill out an application or email us at char@adoptgoodkarma.com if you are interested in meeting him.
