Medical Note: I am Lyme positive. Treatment is 28 days of doxcycyline (an inexpensive antibiotic). The adopter is responsible for treatment of the dog. ODHS does not pay for this treatment.

Hi my name is Curly! I’m 5 years old and 49 lbs! I am a super sweet boy that love people and other dogs. My favorite activities are car rides with my head out the sun roof, sleeping, eating, walking and some snuggling. I love food and I am getting better about only loving dog food.
-Might really see my true personality when you first meet me at ODHS, but give me a chance and take me on a walk you will fall in love right way!
-I like to help in the kitchen by standing near you just incase you need my help cleaning up. I may sniff the counter, but if you tell me “no” I understand and leave it. That being said, I don’t think I am to the point where you can trust me to not be supervised in the kitchen when food is out.
-I don’t hop on furniture, but I love a good rug to nap on. I am not much of a dog or human bed pup. I have been told I am ok in a crate, but love laying around where I can stretch my legs.
-I am a good walker and I don’t pull. Sometimes I will tell you that I am not really in the mood and sit down but I do really like hiking a good adventure in the neighborhood. I love hanging out in the backyard exploring or napping in the sun. I also have great potty manners!
-I listen and take instruction from everyone in the house. I need time to get used to unfamiliar noises like a leaf blower.

What breed am I? Mixed mutt! ODHS does not breed label (unless there’s official paperwork), as studies show it is nearly impossible to tell the exact breed of each dog based off of their appearance.

Adoption Donations are $250 for an adult, $350 for puppies (a dog under one year of age), and $125 for a senior dog (based on the age of the dog). Adoption donations are to be made via cash, check, and credit/debit card. There is a $5 fee to run cards.

Please remember to bring a collar and leash (non-retractable) with you the day of the adoption. Note: Martingale collars and slip leads are strongly recommended.

Due to COVID19, we aren't having as many open, public adoption events. Current schedule is pre-determined meet and greet appointments are Wednesday and Thursday evenings and on Saturdays. Our adoption center is located at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Suite 102, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. It's important that you keep an eye on your emails for any changes or updates during the adoption process.
