CODE RED/ADDED TO EUTH/RED LIST FOR MINOR MEDICAL DESPITE WOUND HEALING- Riverside County Shelter, San Jacinto location, So Cal - ID # A1816855 - 'CUPCAKE'- ONLY 1 YR OLD! FEMALE CHOW/SHEP/GOLDEN RETRIEVER LOOKING MIX AT GREAT RISK IN HIGH KILL SHELTER, 72 hr WARNING AS OF 9/7 TO BE EUTHANIZED. HELP!!! BEAUTIFUL CUPCAKE IS AVAILABLE TO ADOPT, BUT SHELTER IS OVERFULL and EUTHANIZING YOUNG ADOPTABLE DOGS FOR MINOR REASONS AND THIS YOUNG GIRL IS AT GREAT RISK TO BE KILLED 9/10.

WE ARE THEREFORE ALSO DESPERATELY LOOKING FOR A FOSTER AND RESCUE TO SAVE HER LIFE. RESCUES NEED FOSTERS TO HELP! WE ARE LOOKING FOR EITHER A LOVING AND RESPONSIBLE HOME, OR A FOSTER AND RESCUE FOR CUPCAKE as we have named her.

She is gorgeous and listed as only 1 year old and has a fluffy but matted coat, and a mostly pink tongue with some black on it, per the shelter. The shelter listed her as a chow mix, but she looks also like a shepherd and golden retriever mix. Cupcake weighs 52 lbs and was originally thought to be a puppy, but her age was just update to 1.

She has no negative behavior notes and is friendly as seen in videos we have. However, because she came in with a wound on her left thigh that appears to be healing and scabbed over now, they said when she arrived a bit head shy and did not want to let the staff clean her wound. She is currently on antibiotics and pain medication though.

Unfortunately, because the shelter is so full, as soon as she came off her stray hold on 9/7, she was listed as 'rescue needs' for this minor medical, which expedited her to the euthanasia list. Cupcake sadly can be euthanized for space in the next few days, or sooner.

Please note her 72 hour warning expires on 9/10.

Therefore, if you are interested in adopting Cupcake, please contact the shelter immediately by calling (951) 358-7387 and reference her applicable ID and also use her listing link to express interest: https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/24Petconnect.com/DetailsMain/RVSD3/A1816855__;!!JTyGX330HN5x6Ko!HB4AKrSIZlDa_RYKPPQKhSJbVwL92QyBuJbPIrGh5KHJtJrWRbdsFwdZysnIDVwjsqiPR4OAPgLBAnqHCRPAoG1MX8r7gA$

If you are interested just to foster, or foster to adopt, or if you need further help, please contact robinmorgan@cox.net or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network asap as we are trying to find fosters we can then refer to a rescue group to save her in time.

There is also a chance she could be fostered through the shelter and continue to receive medical treatment, or we could pair you with a rescue group to assist with this as a foster. Currently, Cupcake is kenneled alone, but a dog test could and should be requested if you have another dog.

If you are a rescue group and interested in pulling this beauty, please email the shelter right away at: transferdas@rivco.org and call (951) 358-7302.
