Meet Cowboy

Cowboy is a estimated to be 2 year old male neutered pit bull. He was found tied at a park by one of our trainers and he's been with us since. We have been blessed to learn a lot about him. He absolutely loves tug of war and squeaky toys. We like to do structured tug games using ques like, take it. This has been awesome in building cowboys drop it command. Large ropes especially are his favorite. Toys may be his favorite things but, you can always find Cowboy trading toys for treats. Cowboy has been a training super star. He knows how to sit, lay down, has been introduced to drop it/leave it, and has great leash manners. He has done amazing on a 3 breaks a day potty schedule and in a previous home was crate trained. He does amazing with a routine and structure. We like to do walks on both a 8ft and 15ft leash and hes done great. He checks in with you frequently and responds well to leash pressure on a martingale and other corrective collars. He does get scared of cars so that is the biggest thing we work on. Unfortunately, Cowboy was ran over by a truck (and came out with no injuries pretty much by a miracle) so we are patient with his car fear. He is still happy to hop in the car with you for a car ride and adventure. He's done multiple 30 minute car rides. It is only when walking on busy streets that his fear shows. Especially with trucks, On low traffic streets Cowboy is a lot more comfortable with passing cars. It's never surprising for him to be happy to see you. Cats and other dogs also catch Cowboys excitement. Hes been very neutral with dogs and has a lot of excitement with cats. He usually scares them away with how he runs up when excited but even when he is right next to them he is wagging his tail and sitting.
