My wife recently street rescued and we have been fostering this beautiful brindle American Bully and need some help placing him. This is one of the most beautiful soft coats I’ve ever seen on a dog. His ears are sadly cropped so his past is probably pretty dismal but his disposition is still happy and playful. He is curious and still impressionable so in the right hands will be an amazing loyal companion.
He hasn’t shown any signs of aggression towards the other stray shorthair dog he was running with that we also foster or other dogs he has been around under our care. He probably doesn’t need to be in a house with cats until he’s a little older though. We have three of those and they are not at all pleased with his interest in them.
He was neutered on 11/15/22, vaxed for rabies and dewormed. He weighs 59lbs and is estimated by our vet to be 1 1/2 yrs. He still has some puppy in him but loves to just rest his head on a lap or lay on his bed at your feet too.
He has quickly become crate friendly meaning he will hang in there on his own when the door is open and doesn’t mind being crated but has torn blankets/toys when left for more than a couple of hours unattended (this is with the other dog crated separately in the same room though, they seem to encourage/excite each other). Buddy hasn’t had any accidents in his crate in the three weeks he’s been with us and only had a few isolated incidents when first coming into the house so I cannot guarantee he is “fully” house-trained, we just haven’t had him long enough to know for sure.
Buddy loves to run in the yard and go on walks, he walks on a leash “ok”. He does pull a bit at times but responds when corrected and shows improvement most days. He loves dried sweet potatoes, playing with toys, real bone for long lasting chews and being close to his humans. We have made some progress with “sit” and “crate time” commands. He is full of love and really deserves a chance at a good life. Vet reference a must for any new potential “pawrents”, we have come to love both boys and have done just about all we can for them. Please consider giving this guy the chance he deserves! Thank You.
