DOG'S DESCRIPTION
Cotton is a handsome gentle giant looking for a loving family and home with room to run. He is perfect for all you big dog lovers! He is laid back and eager to please. Unfortunately he is heartworm positive, but K-9 Lifesavers is providing treatment, and he will be as good as new in no time and ready to be part of your pack!
To learn more about heartworm please visit: http://pets.webmd.com/dogs/guide/heartworms-in-dogs-facts-and-myths
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.
