Make your cosmic dreams come true with Cosmo, a one-year old, 58-pound male mix located in University Park, MD. This young fella’ is an interesting combination of Boxer, American Staffordshire Terrier, and Blue Heeler, giving him his rugged good looks!

Cosmo is one happy camper around other dogs and attends doggie day care twice a week. Part of his adoption must-haves is a compatible playmate. A male or female dog who matches his size and rough n’ tumble ways would be ideal. Cosmo also loves to chase balls and sticks, play with his duck toy, and lay at his people’s feet whenever they are lounging.

This easy-to-please boy would be perfectly happy running and playing in a yard with another canine kid, but he needs a quiet home and location - no apartments, cities, or dense suburbs. Country life or a spread out neighborhood with a fenced yard is best. If he gets plenty of exercise with a setup like this, he will not need as much regular walking. He currently takes very lengthy jaunts, but any walking must be in areas where there are few people or dogs.

Though he’s been well-socialized since puppyhood, Cosmo is very reactive to certain situations when leashed. He has a tough time keeping it together when he sees strangers, other dogs, and moving objects such as bikes and scooters. On the other paw, Cosmo is great off leash and enjoys exploring low-traffic woodsy paths. Stick to quiet trails and Cosmo will stick by you!

Cosmo’s ideal family is adult-only. He currently lives with children but it’s too hectic for him. He doesn’t like a lot of things going on at once, preferring a zen-like lifestyle when not playing and having fun. With visitors, Cosmo likes it when they ignore him. Let him take his time and he’ll eventually come around.

Cosmo likes his crate and sleeps in it at night. He also uses it during the day for his own private ‘me time.’ He’s healthy, neutered, and UTD on shots and preventatives. No cats due to his herding nature!
