Meet Copper
Copper in a Nutshell: This big boy is a sweet young hound/husky mix who is super affectionate, extremely silly, brilliant, adventurous, and confident. He is highly active and craves constant mental and physical stimulation and activities. Copper is absolutely hysterical: He does somersaults, chases his tail, sings, and is making huge strides every day with his basic obedience. He is an incredibly fast learner, but just struggles with focusing and impulses. He is leash trained, crate trained, nearly fully house-trained, happily runs miles indoors on a treadmill, can comfortably wear a weighted backpack and learns more awesome tricks every day.
He is highly social and very playful with dogs he trusts after a brief, properly guided introduction. He’d make an amazing jogging/hiking partner and thrives with new sights and smells daily. A dog park is not a good fit for him as he could escape and may become overwhelmed with too many new dogs approaching at once, but long walks in exciting locales would thrill him!
He’d do best in a calm but outdoorsy family with large dog experience without young children, seniors, or small animals. A fenced in yard would be ideal for him to let out some of his Cirque de Soleil dance moves but he is an excellent escape artist and would need to always be monitored. (He can scale over, dig under, or squeeze through literally anything).
He would do fantastically well with a sibling dog who is a calm, assertive, confident role model for him to copy (He’s 100% a copycat dog)! In the right home he will excel and have you laughing constantly!
