MUST LIVE IN ROCHESTER, NY AREA TO ADOPT and preference given to having a physically fenced in yard for him to play in.
Colt is a playful 9-month-old male pup, weighs just over 13 lbs., and said to be Pug/Chihuahua mix. He was surrendered due to a move with no pets allowed. He is updated on basic vet care and vaccines, and we’re just waiting to confirm date for neuter surgery.
Colt gets along just fine with all of them, a variety of breeds and sizes. He loves his humans and is very generous with kisses. He has never demonstrated a speck of aggression, and is just a bouncy, playful, loving pup. Yes, he does still chew a bit, so keep valuables out of reach.
Colt has mastered the use of a doggy door to their fenced back yard, but with any change he may need some reinforcement in housetraining until he and his new owners can get used to each other’s schedules. He does sleep in his crate at night and does well with it. Colt would absolutely LOVE having children to play with, but please be cautious about him scooting out the door when the kids come and go.
Colt is a happy, healthy pup with PLAY high on his priority list. If you are looking for an energetic, loving friend, Colt may be the perfect choice!
He will be going to his adoptive home under a foster to adopt contract until his neuter is complete. You would be required to get him into our vet clinic for 7:30 am date TBD, in Rochester and then pick up (3 to 4 pm) from rescue to finalize adoption at that time. For this reason we will not adopt to anyone outside our immediate adoption area. We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally, if fencing is required it must be a physical fence and in place at time of home visit.
