Meet Cole

Cole is coal black puppy that currently weighs 30 pounds at just 4 months old. He is a Mastiff and Black Labrador Retriever mix. He is going to be a big boy!

We aren't sure what his past was like. All we were told was he had to get out of a bad situation along with his friend Chloe, who is a young Husky. (Chloe was also posted on our Coastal GSR website but was adopted).

Cole is a little shy but is quickly adapting to his foster home. His fosters describe him as a "mature puppy". He loves his foster dad and sleeps on a dog bed by his side of the bed. He is more tentative about the foster mom and sister. They are bribing him with treats but he is still a bit skeptical about them.

He loves his canine sisters and plays with them, in particular the youngest one. He gets along with the male Chiweenie and wants to play with him but the Chi would rather not. Cole also loves to play with dog toys.

Because of the past rainy weather, he is not 100% housebroken but is well on his way. He follows the other dogs to the sliding door and will tap on it along with them to be let out. It's just a matter of time, and some dry weather, for him to be fully potty-trained.

Cole just started going on leashed walks. He is getting the hang of being on a leash and is progressing nicely.

We think that Cole would feel more comfortable and fit in quicker with a new family if there was another mature and friendly dog in the home. This would be especially helpful when the family members were away from the home for long periods of time during the day.
