Meet Cocoa Puff
***Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time***
We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. Meet Cocoa Puff, an almost 3-year-old German Shepherd mix, neutered male weighing around 80 pounds — and as sweet and huggable as his name suggests. This big, fluffy teddy bear is currently in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS and he’s ready to find a forever family of his very own.
Cocoa Puff’s journey hasn’t been easy. He was found as a stray and taken to BARC, where he was heartbreakingly placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, Dizzy Dog Animal Rescue stepped in and gave him a second chance — and he’s made the most of it. When he was first rescued, Cocoa Puff was scared, shut down, and unsure of the world around him. But with time, patience, and love from his foster family, he’s blossomed into a gentle, affectionate, and fun-loving companion.
Though he can still be a little shy when meeting new people, he warms up quickly and thrives when he feels safe and connected. He’s happiest just being near his people — whether that’s helping with yard work, strolling by the lake, or cuddling on the couch. Cocoa Puff is potty trained, great on a leash, and gets along well with other dogs. He’s also a big fan of car rides, especially when he gets to ride with the windows down and feel the breeze in his fur.
Cocoa Puff has a calm, steady presence and a heart full of love. He’s looking for a family that will continue to help him build confidence while including him in everyday life. He doesn’t ask for much — just companionship, comfort, and a little patience while he continues to thrive.
He is up to date on all vaccinations and ready to start his next chapter. If you're looking for a loyal, loving, and low-key companion, Cocoa Puff might just be the perfect match.
