Coco's Story
Everyone needs a little chocolate in their lives and Coco is the perfect pup to add your active, fun household. Coco is around a year old, and she weighs in at a little over 40 pounds.

After being lucky enough to be rescued from a high kill shelter, Coco came down with Parvo and had to fight her way back to health. Like a champ, she defeated that illness and is now thriving.

Coco hasn’t let her bad luck dampen her zest for life! She is extremely friendly and energetic. She loves to play ball, although, she has not figured out that she should bring the ball back! But she loves the chase. Part of her game is to bring it back just out of reach without letting you grab it. A ball is her absolute favorite thing. While she likes to play with soft toys, she tends to find it entertaining to search for a prize that might be hiding inside!

Coco is wonderful with other dogs and would love an active dog to share a home with. She has shown interest in cats but is not aggressive in any way, just thinks they might be a nice friend to have. Despite her rough start to life, she is learning how great getting love and affection can be.

Still being young, Coco sometimes gets confused about what is a toy and what is not. She is very curious and into everything, so she does need to be supervised.

Her excitement and adoration for people does lead to jumping but she is working hard to contain herself. Coco will need an active home. A home with other dogs would probably be good for her, but if she is an only dog, she will need plenty of exercise and stimulation. With a family committed to training and channeling her energy, she will thrive! She is a good-natured dog who just has a lot of puppy left in her. Coco will be a wonderful addition to the right family!

Coco is crate trained and just about house trained.

Coco is available for adoption now.

If you are interested in Coco and are an approved adopter, please contact your Adoption Coordinator to be added to Coco’s list. If you are a not yet approved, you can find our adoption guidelines and application at: www.savealabrescue.org

Coco is fostered in RI
