Update 8/9/17 We are Coo Coo for Coco Puffs…and here’s why!
Meet Coco! She’s a great dog looking for her forever home! Coco is a large mixed-breed girl with a heart of gold, and eyes that will melt your heart. She loves to run alongside her foster mom’s bicycle with the “Walky Dog,” specifically made for dogs and bicycles and loves to go on long walks or runs. So if you’re looking for a dog that is happy to be active with you, Coco is your girl! She’s also content to be a couch potato and snuggle and watch TV.
Coco is a bigger girl—about 60 pounds—so she’s looking for a home with just adults or with kids over the age of 14. Coco gets along well with the small dogs in her foster home. Coco would like to chase cats, so a cat-free household would be best. Coco is a graduate of CPAA’s Hounds of Prison Education (HOPE) training and rehabilitation for rescue and shelter dogs, so she comes with free training support for life with one of our HOPE trainers! How’s that for a reason to adopt Coco Puff?!
Coco started out her life as a stray on the streets of Baltimore and is now ready for her happily ever after. Will that be with you? To apply to adopt Coco, visit www.furryfriendsnetwork.com and fill out the adoption application.
Update 11/6/2016. Coco, a 4 year old Boxer mix, had a very sad story before being rescued. She was given away on Craigslist by someone who no longer wanted her. The man who took her from Craigslist then decided that he didn’t want her either, so he turned her loose on the streets. Several weeks later, she made her way back to his house, scared, skinny, and pregnant. In November 2015, she gave birth to 9 puppies that the man gave away, then wanted to give Coco away too.
CPAA found out about Coco from an email post asking for help for her. She has been spayed, vaccinated, and tested for parasites and heartworm. All her tests were negative. She was not being fed well prior to coming into rescue and is now at a healthy weight! Coco weighs about 60 pounds.
Coco is currently in our HOPE Dogs Prison program. You can follow her progress here: http://hopedogs.org/hope-dogs/current-parolees/102-coco.html
Coco is very sweet, gets along with male dogs, but can be selective with female dogs. Coco would like a home with no cats. She is very affectionate and loves to go for car rides! Coco is extremely eager to learn and would make a great walking or running buddy. She doesn't really understand her size, especially when she plays so a home with no young children would be ideal.
