Coal Terrier Mix Gulfport, MS

For over 6 months, our girl Coal has been overlooked. This 45-pound bundle of love is a Retriever/Pitbull Terrier mix who deserves so much more. Coal was picked up by Biloxi Animal Control near Harrah's Casino on June 3rd, 2024, and brought to the Humane Society of South Mississippi. Sadly, her owners never came for her, and she's been waiting for her forever family ever since. She's never had a foster home or gone out on a slumber party-this holiday season, we're determined to change that!

Are you a young, single female in need of a protective, loyal companion? Or maybe you're an adventurous guy who loves days on the river and needs a dog who can keep up? Coal might be your perfect match. She'd do best in a home with an experienced owner who is willing to put in a little work to help her master leash manners (she can be a bit of a puller!). She's energetic, loving, and will be your constant sidekick. While she could eventually be great with kids, she's currently not recommended for little ones, as she gets excited and sometimes jumps up when playing in the yard. She knows "sit," but she's still working on "shake" and "lay down."

She's EXTREMELY food motivated, making her super easy to redirect with treats or toys, especially tennis balls. If you're looking for a dog who will be your loyal companion and keep you on your toes, Coal just might be the one.
