Hi everyone, my name is Wyatt! I'm a liver and white Brittany Mix. **(73.1% Brittany, 18.3% Pointer, 8.6% Llewellin Setter)** 100% adorable, 100% charming, 100% lovable.
My name means Brave Warrior. I got it from my foster Mom after she realized, despite my rough start to life, I am as happy as can be. I am sweet, exuberant, and very high energy. I also get called Wonky Wyatt because my legs go in every direction, making them appear wonky. When I saw the nice doctor, she called me special needs. Me? Special needs? Yeah right! I think she just meantSPECIAL! Just ask anyone that meets me.
I love to run, play, chase the ball (working on bringing it back) and do everything Brittany youngsters do! Even though my legs look different, they don't stop me-I can run really fast! Sleeping and lying about is nice but I would much rather be going 100 miles per hour, chasing squirrels or playing with a friend. I love other dogs and my new home requires another dog so I can play, play, play!
Guess what? I really love to chase small animals-cats, squirrels, small dogs and even bugs! I will leap and jump in the air trying to catch the bugs. Butterflies are simply the BEST! Because of my prey drive, I cannot go to home with ANY small animals. I will need a fully secured 6ft fenced yard. I love all humans! Older kids are just fine, as long as they are kind and gentle.
So, now you know how special I am! I need someone special who won't judge me because I look alittle different. My new family needs lots of patience. After all, I am a Brittany youngster. I really need guidance and structure. An obedience class would be SUPER fun!
If you need someone who is always ready for fun, then I'm your guy! My foster mom is in tears of laughter daily because I'm always having so much fun! Remember I said I'm special. I'm so special that I have my very own Facebook page! You can check my page to see how much fun I have at https://www.facebook.com/wonkywyatt/.
Wyatt is otherwise healthy, UTD on all vaccinations, heart worm negative, (on preventative), neutered, and micro chipped. His adoption fee will be $325 to offset his vetting and to allow NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members. Please complete the on-line application by visiting www.NBRAN.org.
Once the application has been completed, you will be contacted by your state coordinator. A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process. Wyatt is not eligible for our Canine Railroad transport. He is very nervous in the car and does not ride well. Please contact Lora Smith, CO Coordinator to discuss acceptable distances. Email: email@example.com
Medical Note: **Wyatt was gifted an Embark DNA test that will be provided with his adoption.** Wyatt has elbow dysplasia (legs bow out) as well as some mild arthritis in his spine. He is NOT in pain and will require over the counter supplements like salmon oil, Cosequin, and bone broth. Wyatt has been to an orthopedic specialist and unfortunately, his legs cannot be corrected but was given a clean bill of health to be adopted. As he ages, his condition could progress to result in mobility and comfort issues that will require affordable pain and anti-inflammatory medication. He will need yearly monitoring by your vet. His condition will be best managed by keeping a healthy weight, strong muscles, and supplements.
