Meet Clyde

*Please read entire description!*
Clyde is a 4 year old Golden Retriever mix with icy blue eyes. His good looks and very alluring and his personality is charming as well! Clyde has recently found his calling in the great outdoors and he loves to spend time adventuring. He loves swimming and playing in water! He is a gentleman on the leash and always walks with slack. The way to his heart is definitely food. He LOVES treats and takes them very gently. Clyde's foster says that "he has definitely started to feel bonded to me, and he looks to follow me around the house. He's getting more interested in toys...and rolling over for belly rubs! He legitimately reminds us of a living, breathing teddy bear."

Here are some things that his foster parents Jason and Jennifer report that they love about Clyde:

1) He is possibly the sweetest, gentlest dog we've ever met
2) He already knows several commands including sit, lie down, heel, and touch
3) He is the BEST hiking dog ever! He never pulls...he just wants to walk with his person
4) He seems to bond closely to his person. It's sweet to see how he watches me and follows me around the house. He also LOVES being a part of a dog pack
5) Just look at him! He's a teddy bear!
6) He's made so much progress in his short time with us! In his 4 years of life, Clyde has likely never lived in a home. As a result, he was unsure and anxious for the first week or so. Crate breaks helped a lot to "reset" him when he started to get stressed out with his new environment. He will likely go through this same transition when he goes to his forever home."

Clyde has countless amazing qualities, but he is behaviorally special needs and therefore needs a specific type of home to set him up for success:

> Clyde would do best with someone that is home most of the time as he struggles with separation anxiety. He enjoys spending time in his crate, but becomes destructive if left alone as a result of his anxiety. He is doing well on medication and we will offer post adoption support and training.

> A fence is a requirement for Clyde because he enjoys spending time decompressing outside, but is a flight risk. The fence should be tall and secure as he may try to escape. He is not well suited for an invisible fence.

> Clyde is not an apartment dog. He can be vocal at times when alone.

> Clyde enjoys the company of other dogs and a dog friend would definitely be a plus, but it is not required.

> Most importantly, Clyde needs a PATIENT owner that will stick with him through the ups and downs.

> Clyde does seem happier when outside. An appropriate outdoor home will be considered!
