Arrival story: Lucky Clover was pulled from a local shelter just 2 days before giving birth to her Lucky Seven pups!

Approximate age / Weight: 5 yrs/70 lbs

Personality: Our girl Clover was busy the first 2 months being a mom. Now that her puppies have found their forever homes, she is blossoming as she becomes comfortable in her foster home. She likes to play in the yard and go on walks, and then she will settle in nicely to occupy herself with her toys. She's discovered that it's quite wonderful to be brushed, and she's eager to please and willing to learn. She's been making great strides when meeting new people and warms up quickly. It appears Clover may have missed out on some important experiences early in her life as she can be shy and looks to her person for reassurance in new situations, but she is gaining more and more confidence as time goes by. Clover's biggest accomplishment of late is her interactions with the resident dogs in her foster home. She lives with small and medium-sized dogs and they are teaching her appropriate canine social rules. She's been a quick study; however, she still gets a bit carried away during play so a confident dog pal who doesn't mind a little rough-and-tumble play would be a good match for Clover.

Clover is house-trained, doesn't need a crate, but still needs some work on leash. She's a very strong girl!! We think Clover has so much potential and will continue to make great strides in her confidence with more experiences under her belt. If you're a shep lover with an understanding of all things shep, you could be the special person or couple to continue her life's journey.

Forever home: Clover would do best in an adult household with experienced dog owners who will continue to build her confidence. She'd do fine as an only dog; however, she's recently shown interest in playing with the resident dogs. So, it would appear she wouldn't say no to a compatible canine playmate. Sorry kitties, but Clover is not a cat person. She would not do well in an apartment/condo setting, and no electric fences, please.
