Meet Clover
Sweet Clover is one of a litter of 10 puppies still looking for her forever home! She was born on Jan 9, 2023. Clover is currently in a foster home with young kids, other dogs, and cats - and she takes it all in stride! She's learning about crate training and is doing GREAT with house training, very rarely having an accident.
At Clover's first vet visit it was noted that she had a heart murmur. We wanted to make sure all was well and she was ready to find her forever home, so Clover went to visit our friends at the University of Missouri Veterinary Health Center. They discovered she has a condition called mitral valve dysplasia. This means that the valve between the chambers on the left side of the heart isn't shaped quite right. Currently her heart size is normal and she is otherwise unaffected. It's hard to say what the future holds for Clover - we are hopeful that she will be able to live a long and healthy life and that her heart won't ever slow her down, but it's possible she may need a little extra TLC down the road if her condition progresses. Her care team at MU recommended a follow up with a cardiologist in 6 months to reassess her heart and come up with a long term plan. She does not need surgery, and at this time does not require any medications.
Clover has received her first few rounds of vaccines and is microchipped. She's a playful happy girl, and she's ready to find a family all her own! If you think that might be you, we would love to talk with you more!

*Dogs and puppies 12 months old or younger: $400
* Adult dogs over 12 months of age: $350
* Senior dogs over 7 years of age qualify for our "Seniors FUREVER" program! Seniors are special to us, so we offer two options:
(1) If your heart has a special place for the seniors, you can adopt a senior dog for the regular adoption fee of $350 and this becomes a perpetual fee. You can adopt another SGSDR senior dog at any time from us in the future at NO CHARGE.
(2) If you aren't sure about your future adoption capacity, you may adopt your SGSDR senior dog for a reduced adoption fee of $250.
