Arrival story: Lucky Clover was pulled from a local shelter just 2 days before giving birth to her Lucky Seven pups!
Approximate age / Weight: 5 yrs/70 lbs
Personality: Our girl Clover was busy the first 2 months being a mom. Now that her puppies have found their forever homes, she is blossoming as she becomes comfortable in her foster home. She likes to play in the yard and go on walks, and then she will settle in nicely to occupy herself with her toys. It appears Clover may have missed out on some important experiences early in her life as she can be shy and looks to her person for reassurance in new situations. She's discovered that it's quite wonderful to be brushed, and she's eager to please and willing to learn from the people she is comfortable with. She needs encouragement and slow introductions to new people, but once the treats start flowing, she tends to warm up. She's been to dog daycare, and though she did okay with all of the activity, she will do best as the only dog in her new home.
Clover is house-trained, doesn't need a crate, but still needs some work on leash. She's a very strong girl!! We think Clover has so much potential and will continue to make great strides in her confidence with more experiences under her belt. If you're a shep lover with an understanding of all things shep, you could be the special person or couple to continue her life's journey.
Forever home: Clover would do best in an adult household with experienced dog owners willing to help build her confidence. She'd do best as an only dog and have you all to herself. Sorry kitties, but Clover is not a cat person. She would not do well in an apartment/condo setting, and no electric fences, please.
