Meet Clifford

Meet Clifford!

*Clifford is in our Houston foster program and will be able to travel in October.*

Oh! Well, hello. My name is Clifford. I'm quite a handsome old man, at 10 years old and I weigh a whopping 110 pounds. Its assumed that I was a very loved companion at one point in my life. I'm well behaved and a very loyal dog. I'm completely housetrained, never have to be crated (good thing too! I'd need an awfully big crate!), though my foster mom does put me in a spare room, all to myself, when she leaves. I never have messes, I just sleep alot in there. I'm good with kids of all ages, and I absolutely adore my 2 year old human foster sister. Sometimes she has little friends over and I just lay down while they pet me. I live with a cat too, and I don't mind her. I have gotten along with all the dogs I've met so far, even the feisty little one who tried to antagonize me when I first got here.

So, I'm old, as you know, which means I don't hear so well anymore, but I do know some hand commands. I also move a little slower now than I once did. But, if I smell something yummy that I think might be for me, or if you throw my tennis ball, you'll see I can move quick if I want to! I'm not so fond of people taking things from me that are super high in value like food and toddler toys (oops!), but my foster mom gave me a treat in exchange for the girl's toy and everything was right in the world. I just ask that you feed me away from others, I really like my food, so don't want anyone else to have it, and if you have a cat, make sure I can't get their food. I'm hoping I can find a family who has someone who likes to cuddle, give belly rubs, and is looking for a dog to give them so much love their heart will be full! I'd really like to be a part of a family again. Soon, hopefully.

Albert's Dog Lounge is a transporting dog rescue, meaning that we rescue many of our dogs from high kill shelters in areas of dog overpopulation. We are a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. The vast majority of our dogs come from the Houston, TX area where we have an entire team of volunteers, coordinators, and fosters. We do also work with local shelters, rescues, and owners. If you apply for a dog that is currently in our local Houston program, we will work to get your dog transported to WI as quickly as possible. We ask that you have patience during this time of uncertainty and unprecedented dog adoptions nationwide.

Learn more about Albert's Dog Lounge, our mission, and adoption policies by visiting Albertsdoglounge.org.

Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $250.
