Meet Cleopatra

Meet Cleopatra!

Cleopatra was named for her beautiful dark eyeliner. We don’t know what her breed mix is, but she has a wire coat, a slight underbite, and short legs. Maybe Westhighland terrier and Dachshund? She weighs 15lbs and she is estimated to be around 3 years old.

Cleopatra had to be trapped after running loose in a field in Hermiston for a month. She was sleeping under a construction trailer at night when it snowed. Worse, she was pregnant!

We got Cleopatra into rescue halfway through her pregnancy. A month later she gave birth to nine puppies! NINE! She has since been spayed, so no more puppies for her. Whew!

Cleopatra is very sweet and gentle with people, other dogs and cats. She is understandably a little nervous in new situations but she is a happy, playful, high energy girl when she feels safe. Still, we would consider her a flight risk if she is not in a securely fenced yard or wearing a harness and leash. She is never going to be an off-leash dog, but she is a sweet little character and a good girl. We think that Cleopatra was never indoors prior to us getting her. We have crate trained her.

Cleopatra LOVES to play with her remaining (two) one year old puppies. They are all bff’s. Of course, we know it’s highly unlikely that someone would adopt all three of them together, but she definitely would do well with a respectful small dog companion.
