Cleo Hound Mix Marion, NC

Cleo was born in August 2021 and is currently 35 lbs. She is a very delicate little girl. Her mom is a beautiful mix of some sort with a good nature. With her red color and wrinkled face, we can't help but wonder if her papa was some kind of redbone hound???

Cleo has a sleek golden/honey colored coat with the cutest little white patch along her chest. One look at those soulful brown eyes and your heart will melt.

Cleo is such a gentle soul. She was born outdoors and lived among a bunch of littermates and adult dogs where food was scarce. It was truly a situation of survival of the fittest. She was bullied by bigger, stronger litter mates and became fearful of the humans who were unkind to her. Cleo was not shown any attention or love.

Now Cleo is in a loving foster home with 2 balanced adult dogs and has made good progress in her confidence and trust. Her foster home is quiet and safe. Cleo is still sensitive and will need to go to a home with kind and patient humans, no smallish children, and a grounded and nurturing dog friend. Another dog in the home will help her grow away from her fears. We feel she must have another dog companion to help her integrate into her new family and relieve her fears.
