Meet Clark: This gorgeous Boy is a Bluetick Coonhound/Bloodhound (we think) and the vet estimates he is about 1.5 years old. Clark was found with his sidekick "Lewis" while exploring Kingwood unaccompanied, and was saved by a good Samaritan who contacted us. Clark is quite a typical hound - he is happiest when he can follow his nose and an hang out close to the other dogs in his foster home and his people. He is quite aloof and takes a while to make eye contact with a new person, but he keeps close tabs on the people he trusts - he's usually not far from them and positions himself in spot in the house that allows for maximum coverage of all people and dogs. He gets along with all dogs he has met so far, he plays with some and is content to parallel live next to others. He loves "his" people and politely greets strangers, but takes a little while to include newcomers into his circle. Despite his considerate size he is quite gentle and affectionate. He is also quite talented at squeezing past a person in an open door, so he is looking for a secure yard with a family that know how to keep him contained when the front door opens, he's quite the opportunist.

Clark is pretty calm and is looking for a moderately active home to include him in lots of outings, but more important would be another similar-sized dog for him to bond to. With strong hound-genes he vocalizes dissatisfaction so he shouldn't be left alone for long periods of time, he needs adequate exercise, mental stimulation and training to be happy and to curb his interest in jail breaking. He has learned to run next to a bike and gets very very excited when he he sees the bike getting ready. Clark seems to be an experienced fence jumper and chain link fence under 7 feet do not contain him, so we are looking for a home with solid 6-7 foot wooden fencing and someone who is home a lot to monitor him.

***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***
