Clara's Story
Clara is ready for her second chance.

This sweet girl was found as a stray near Saviers Market in Oxnard with her mama Gretta. A good Samaritan spotted them and, worried they might get run over in the street, took them in. They fostered the pair and posted them on Nextdoor and the Ring app in hopes of finding their owner. Sadly, no one came forward. We believe they may have been dumped. After the stray hold was complete, Shelter Hope took them in.

Clara is an adventurous and loving 11-month-old, 18 lb Chihuahua mix. She’s very gentle, sweet, and quiet at first, but once she feels comfortable, her playful and social side comes out. She’s great around other dogs and, according to her foster, she is potty trained and does well around kids! She is clever and quite springy too! She would do best in a home with a tall, secure fence.

Now spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, Clara is looking for her forever home!

-------

Looking to Adopt? Please monitor your email and spam folder for our message. Adoptions can happen quickly so be prepared for our call, only apply for dogs that every family member in the home wants, and wait to apply until you return from your vacation.

More on our process:
Due to high demand, especially for popular dogs, not all applicants will be contacted. Moreover, we may not reach out if we have already approved a family to adopt. The process can take several days. Thank you for your patience!
