Claire American Staffordshire Terrier Mix Raleigh, NC

Meet Claire, a spirited 2-year-old female dog weighing only 40 lbs, making her a perfect size for various living situations. She has plenty of energy and may pull a little on the leash, but she's also timid when walking by barking dogs outside. Bringing along a tug toy during walks helps keep her focused and engaged, and she could use some work in this area. Walking with another dog seems to boost her confidence, and she would greatly benefit from additional training and reassurance. Come meet this energetic girl-she's ready to take on the world!

During playgroups volunteers said Claire is a sweet and submissive kind of girl. She would run ten steps, then quickly belly up in a show of submission to her playmate. Definitely a gentle and dainty player, she was a little overwhelmed by a bigger, more enthusiastic dog. She seemed to find most enjoyment when engaging with those who would lightly chase her.

She is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be spayed prior to going home. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time.
