Ready to hear from Claire's foster? The below text is what they have to say about him!
"Claire was very timid and scared when she first came home but it didn’t take her long to realize she was safe and loved. She is a sweet, easy-going, calm puppy. She is a cuddler and loves to be with her people but she isn’t aggressive about it, she will wait for the other dogs to be done and then come for lovings. She loves her toys and playing with the other dogs. She is definitely the quieter one in the bunch. She sleeps with her people in the bed most nights. She is a sweet, gentle soul who is happy to be loved after a rough start in life."

Claire had a rough start in life. She was born on a property where the owners didn't do much with her. As her litter grew, they started roaming and going to the neighbor's property. The neighbors did not appreciate that and threatened to shoot her and her siblings. The owner ended up reaching out for help in placing these guys. We ended up taking her and 4 of her siblings. That was all we had room for at the time. Not even a day later, she came down with parvo and her siblings followed suit.

It turns out that the other 6 puppies that were still on the property were also sick with Parvo. We had begged the owner to take the other puppies to the vet, and we would figure out things from there. They refused and three puppies ended up losing their life. Thankfully with the help of OAA and some amazing volunteers, we were able to get them off the property and to the vet. Once they recovered we welcomed the last three to our fluffy butt family. This rescue took a village, and we are so thankful to OAA for assisting with the puppies, to the amazing lady who alerted us to the pups in need, and to all our vets and fosters that helped nurse these guys back to health!

Claire is a 6-month-old female Great Pyrenees/Shepherd mix. She currently weighs about 40lbs. We are guessing that she will top out in the 60-70lb range.

??To Claire's Future Family??
-----------------------------------------

? Claire has been recovering from Parvo so she hasn't had much experience with the leash. She has been on a few car rides and did well. She loves meeting new people but may initially be a bit reserved. She has not been to any public outings yet. She has good manners around people and doesn't jump on them.

? Claire has not had the chance to play in any water so we are unsure if she is a water dog or not. We are unsure if she would be interested in playing fetch. She does enjoy playing with toys.
-Claire has not shown to have any issues with food aggression or resource guarding in her foster home.

?Claire is potty trained. She is NOT kennel trained. Whenever her foster is away, she is given free-roam of the house and does well. At night, she likes to sleep in bed with her fosters or on the floor. Claire has not shown to be a big chewer or barker in her foster home.

? We are unsure how Claire would do in an apartment setting. Her new family would need to have a good exercise plan in place and be prepared to leash train her.

?Claire is being fostered around other dogs, cats, and kids. She loves the other dogs and enjoys playing with them. She does well with the cat and loves kids.

?? Adopting Claire ??

Claire is a very sweet and calm puppy. She loves her siblings and people. She loves to play but then is happy to just lay with her people while they watch a movie or are up cooking dinner. She just wants to be with her people. She would do best in a house with another dog to play with and a family who is home more often. She would not do well being left home for long periods of time by herself. She loves being around her family.

Claire is being fostered in Blanchard, OK. Her new family needs to be able to pick her up(even if they are out of state). No commercial transports and no shipping. Just a fun road trip with her and her new family! ?

Her adoption fee is $225. That includes two sets of puppy shots and wormings. She will also have had a bordetella. She will be micro-chipped, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention.
