CJ's Story
Hi, I’m CJ! I'm a 2-year-old, 13 lb Shih Tzu mix with a gentle heart and a friendly, playful vibe. While I still enjoy playtime and fun, I’m more of a go-with-the-flow kind of guy, happy to take life one moment at a time. My tail wags a ton and I LOVE people.

I’m sweet, affectionate, and really enjoy companionship. I’ve had a lot of new experiences recently and am enjoying my time at the sanctuary, playing with other small dogs and exploring new places.

I’m learning all the important skills: walking on a leash, visiting the groomer, and navigating new routines. I’m crate trained and sleep through the night without having accidents in my kennel. I am currently unneutered and mark often, but after my neuter on January 20th, this behavior should decrease significantly. I’ll do best with a family who can offer consistency, gentle guidance, and positive reinforcement for pottying outside.

I’d thrive in a home with fewer dogs and a quieter environment, where I can soak up love, enjoy playtime at my own pace, and form a strong bond with my people. A family with rescue experience would be ideal, especially one that understands how important patience and structure are for dogs who are still learning about the world.

I've had my first round of adult vaccinations, have been dewormed, am heartworm negative, and am on heartworm preventative. I will be neutered and microchipped on January 20th and will be available to bring home 5 days later. The sanctuary is accepting applications now!

**Important**

The cost to adopt is $250 and the adoption process begins with an Adoption Application that is located at: www.faithfulfriendsnc.org/adopt

Once your completed application has been reviewed the humans will contact you with questions and/or set an appointment for you to meet me. Thank you! Please read all guidelines before sending in an application. Do not reach out to the sanctuary about the status of your application, we will contact you if we are interested in setting up an appointment.
