Churro Retriever Mix Palatine, IL

Churro is a very sweet, playful 18 month Retriever mix weighing 52 pounds. He is housebroken and crate trained. He hangs out in his crate when his foster mom leaves the house but sleeps quietly in her bedroom at night (bonus...he can go a whole work day in the crate and acts like it's nothing)! 

He would love a fenced backyard so you can throw his frisbee or tennis ball for him...two of his favorites. He also loves to go for long walks. Sometimes he can get distracted by all the things there are to see and hear on walks but has been very responsive to positive reinforcement training. He already knows several commands like sit, down, wait, and leave it. It helps that Churro is highly treat motivated — such a plus with training! 

Churro is good with older kids but seems to get nervous around little ones.  After a great day of walking, running, playing, and getting lots of treats he's ready to settle in for a nice snuggle with you! Churro has a healthy bark -- good for security but maybe annoying to close neighbors, so probably not a great fit for a condo or apartment.

If we do not receive any communication from you, the dog may be adopted out at our event prior to 12 pm if the perfect home comes along. :-)
